China Screen 2016: Call for entries

Chinese Documentaries for Europe

2016 will be the 6th year since the launch in Paris of our first China Screen Festival. Over the years, the festival has established itself as the most reliable source of high-end, creative documentaries made by contemporary Chinese filmmakers. It has become a unique and trustworthy window into the real China, and celebrates the rising level of documentary skills in China.

Initially focussed on Paris as the leading European venue for creative and cultural events, China Screen has branched out, now in its third year, to Italy (Roma, Torino, Pisa…) and Germany (Saarbrücken). This year, in 2016 it will also be present in three additional countries: Spain (Madrid), Finland (Helsinki) and Greece (Mytilene and Aegean Islands).

The core time of the Festival 2016 will be from Oct 28 through to Nov 6. We hope to invite again 4 or 5 Chinese directors to come to Europe and participate in the event.

Like in previous years, an international Jury will judge the up to 10 films in the official competition and award the three prizes that are at stake. The Jury president of this year as well as the other Jury members will be announced in the course of June.

Also like in previous years, we count on the strategic partnerships with GZDOC, the Guangzhou international Documentary Festival, GRT, the official TV Group of Guangdong, Institut Ricci in Paris, Confucius Institut in Rome, Institut National de l’Audiovisuel (INA) from France, the Fondation Victor Segalen to name only a few.

Download the Application Form to send in films, deadline June 30, 2016. Selected films will be notified by the end of July.
