Germany, early xvi. the augustine monk martín lutero causes a schism within christianity when, after a detailed and reflective reading of the bible in the monastery, some issues are reviewed. in 1517, hangs on the door of the wittenberg church its 95 theses, which, in addition to denying some dogmas, condemned the bulls of indulgence that the church sold to raise funds for the construction of the basilica of saint peter. born to the imperial wörms diet, luther refuses to retract unless they can prove, based on the bible, that their theses are false. then he is accused of heresy and ex-commulgated by pope leon x. in this situation he is forced to escape and lives as an outlaw while translating the new testament from latin to german. luther's challenging posture encourages peasants to rebell against the lords and burn churches. terrified by the impact her words had on her followers, luther was forced to find a way to end the reigning chaos.
