Every weekend more than 400 families leave the heart of Manhattan and travel by bus to visit a husband, a father, or a child jailed in one of more than 30 prisons located in the farthest reaches of New York state. This documentary takes us along on one of these trips, and shows us the travelers, who are almost all marginalized people of color. On these buses, we meet Americans without hope. During brief reunions with their imprisoned loved ones, they search for comfort and understanding but remain excluded from the American dream.
